Planning for a New Normal Post-Quarantine

As cities, states, and countries around the world begin planning to lift their stay-at-home restrictions, we are collectively all preparing to enter a new normal post-quarantine. It’s safe to say that life as we know it will be dramatically altered for at least the near future. Changes to how we work, socialize, raise our children and even eat at restaurants will fill our days over the coming weeks and months.

It can all feel a little overwhelming, but there are steps we can all take to regain a little control and feel more comfortable with embracing the new normal spread ahead of us.

Plan Your Post-Quarantine Way Out

There is SO much outside of our control right now. So the best place to start is to focus on what we CAN control. And to do that we should begin focusing on a plan. Planning gives you control and leads to less uncertainty as you adapt to external circumstances.

Now is the time to focus on how you (and your family, business, etc.) will emerge from the Coronavirus crisis. Put on your planning hat and do some forward thinking in terms of short and mid term goals. Initially focus on successfully managing the next few weeks, and then expand from there.

To begin, open the Success Wizard app, or grab a piece of paper, and start journaling some of your thoughts and ideas on what you want your immediate future to look like. Then, use those notes as the roadmap for building your plan.

Accept Your Current Situation

Plans that you had when 2020 began, or even as little as 6 weeks ago, have likely been altered in significant ways. Even if you’ve only encountered mild alterations, there is still a new normal post-quarantine that you need to address head on so that you can accept the need to shift and refocus your plans.

When you recognize that some things are outside of your control, you actually put yourself back into a place of power. And when you solidify that place through action and planning, you take charge of your future.

Remember, planning for your new normal future is a loaded task. You need to consider what you want your life and business to look like, as well as who you want to be, on the other side of the quarantine. In order to do that, you must acknowledge and accept the coronavirus-related changes you’ve encountered and then move forward with your planning from a place of control.

The Mental Boost You Need For A Successful New Normal Post-Quarantine

Beyond helping you forge a path forward, planning also helps from a mental perspective. As we’ve mentioned, this current situation and the resultant new normal are outside of your control. But planning is in your control. It helps put you back in the driver’s seat of your life.

When you focus on planning your way out by accepting your current situation, acknowledging the need for change, and becoming more organized about your future, you will feel better.

Leverage To-Do Lists As Your Planning Best Friend

The To-Do List functionality inside of the Success Wizard app will help you to plan in an organized way. Map out and schedule all of the Activities you’ll need to perform in order to successfully execute your new plan. Track your progress and stay accountable to yourself (and others) so that you can quickly adapt and thrive in the new normal.

Preparing for this current reality makes all the difference between getting run over by the new normal or running alongside it. So, lace up those sneakers, press play on your favorite playlist, and get ready for the game of planning and embracing the new you amid life’s new reality!
